From fishing hotspots to swimming and water sport options, Lake Charlotte Park offers a swimming beach coupled with numerous sporting options for playtime outside of the water, including volleyball, basketball, softball, and disc golf. Be sure to pack your favorite snacks to enjoy within the picnic shelters!

The nearby, gently flowing Long Prairie River offers additional water adventures with canoeing and fishing for Northern pike, walleye, and bass, as you meander through wooded areas, quaint towns, and lush meadows. Along the way, keep an eye out for a delightful host of wildlife, including painted turtle, horned lark, and even beaver!

Speaking of which, sixteen wildlife preserves, including the Mel Roehrl WMA and Keystone Woods, further support biodiversity in the region and create unique opportunities to engage with nature. Some of these sites, such as the Elgin Woods WMA, feature beautiful designated walking trails.
