February 4, 2023
Todd County Development Corporation (TCDC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit economic development corporation that serves all citizens of Todd County, Minnesota. Originally established in 1990, TCDC operates as a non-profit organization assisting communities and businesses with educational, technical, financial, and site selection services.
Rick Utech, Executive Director of Todd County Development Corporation says, “In 2023, Todd County Development Corporation (TCDC) celebrates 32 years of economic and community development service in Todd County. In 2010, community leaders gathered to re-organize and re-energize TCDC under a new board of directors. Several significant projects have been accomplished since then, helping our communities develop and succeed. TCDC is honored to serve as the economic development arm of Todd County and will continue our goal of “Building Communities Together”.
Utech adds, “Navigating through the COVID pandemic over the past three years has been a definitive test for our citizens, communities, and businesses. New challenges and opportunities everyone faced, impacted our everyday decisions and shaped the direction of how we proceed in the future. TCDC remains committed to providing technical and financial assistance to our local businesses and future entrepreneurs.”
Todd County Development Corporation: A Focus on Three Areas
TCDC pays special attention to three primary focus areas. “We understand the significance of child care, housing, and broadband development”, Utech states. “These three areas influence business and community development in our area and necessitate our undivided attention. All three impact our success and how we move forward as communities, businesses, and as a region. Our challenges are many, but taking advantage of the available opportunities will enable us to be successful. TCDC continually explores the way we deliver our services by maintaining our core principles and being responsive to surrounding developments. Our mission to promote and sustain diverse economic and community development through education, training, and technical assistance that improves the quality of life for the citizens of Todd County, defines who we are as an organization. “
