Railroad Days is a fun for all event in Staples

Come join us for Railroad Days, a four-day event in Staples. This is Staples’ annual town festival that falls on the fourth weekend in August. It is a community celebration in which there are many fun activities for both children and adults. Family-friendly activities include a variety shows, an ice cream social, fireworks, medallion hunt, parade, free corn feed, car show, art & crafts, city-wide garage sales, and a street dance.

There are plenty of games such as the Kinship 5K Run/Walk & Jr. Dash, CT Pedal Pull, and LA Pig Races. There is also a bean bag tournament, food and shopping vendors and much more. Plan to have fun by putting Railroad Days on your family calendar.

Todd County was created on February 20, 1885 (Organized in 1873) from Cass County.  The county was named in honor of John Blair Smith Todd, commander of Fort Ripley (1849-56); general in the Civil War; delegate in Congress from Dakota Territory, 1861 and 1863-65; governor of Dakota Territory, 1869-71.
